Frequently Asked Questions

1. What is Children FIRST Therapy?

Children FIRST Therapy provides the highest quality early intervention therapy services for

children birth to three with developmental delays through our unique, integrated preschool and

group therapy programs. Through our unique integrated preschool model and in-home therapy

sessions, our expert therapists provide physical, occupational and speech and language

therapies. We also offer additional sensory and movement therapy programs as well as family-

centered, in-home or in-childcare therapy sessions to help prepare children for preschool. Our

family-centered approach ensures that we also serve the child’s care givers by providing

resource coordination and training for the continuation of care at home.

2. What ages of children does Children FIRST Therapy provide services to?

Children FIRST Therapy provides early intervention therapy services to children age birth to 3.

3. What services do you offer to children in your program?

At Children FIRST Therapy, we know how important it is to all of our parents that their child thrive, grow

and become ready for their next step and we value that parents choose us to help prepare them

for it. Our full list of services includes: in-home and in-child care therapy sessions, toddler and

preschool therapy groups, PE for Tiny Tots and Sensory groups, as well as evaluations and family

resource coordination services.  For a full description of each of our services, please see our

services page.

4. Who do you offer therapy services to?

Children FIRST Therapy is an invaluable resource for families in need in the Central, East and

West Valley school districts. Our full range of programs and services are provided to families

within the boundary lines of those school districts. Our preschool and sensory and movement

groups are also open to children within Spokane County.

5. How do I access your services for my child?

The first step in starting your care journey with Children FIRST Therapy is to schedule an

evaluation for your child. Children FIRST Therapy provides comprehensive developmental

evaluations for all children whose families inquire about developmental delays and needed

services. Children are not only assessed in every area of development but are also evaluated by a

therapist who specializes in the area of greatest concern.

Once your evaluations has been completed, our Family Resource Coordinator will contact you to

schedule a meeting to assist you in completing and filing all the necessary paperwork prior to

your Individualized Family Services Plan (IFSP).

6. What is the cost of your services?

Because Children FIRST Therapy is a contracted service provider for the East Valley School

District and the Infant Toddler Network, we receive funding through the Developmental Disabilities Administration and the School Districts. We also bill most medical insurances and use a sliding fee scale to help offset the costs for families who qualify.
